12 fitness DVD's we're checking out in 2014

Sharing is caring

Hello 2014. Hello New Year. Hello New Year’s Resolutions we’re totally sticking to this time. Hello cheesy fitness DVD’s by really random celebs.

Yep, it’s that time again. That time where we collectively sign up for new gym memberships, ditch the bad habits (for all of, you know, a week) and promise ourselves this is the year where we’ll finally lose those stubborn couple of pounds. We get it – we’ve totally been there, done that. For those who’d rather turn the living room into their gym, there’s the annual fitness DVD drop, usually fronted by some questionable celebrity whose unflattering bikini pictures appeared in the Daily Mail this summer. This year, said C-lister is Vicky Pattinson of Geordie Shore fame, who is outselling every other celeb DVD out there. Here’s Vicky’s and 9 other fitness DVD’s (some really intense, others… well, for comedy value) we’re checking out right now!

VICKY’S 7 DAY SLIM

Fitness DVD

Look. We’re really no fans of these C-list fitness DVD’s, but you have to admit the girl does look good. Maybe there’s something to it. Guess no more scoffing kebabs and drinking like a fish in Geordie Shore, then?

£13 – buy here.

JILLIAN MICHAELS 30 DAY SHRED

Fitness DVD

A real classic amongst fitness DVD’s – and it’s because it works. We’ve done, we’ve felt the burn. Part 1 in full below…

£9 – buy here.

DAVINA FIT IN 15

Fitness DVD

Ahhh Davina, Davina, Davina… Fitness DVD queen, back with another one. At least if she’s doing this, she’s at least not filling our screens doing other things. Two thumbs up.

£19 – buy here.

DAVID HAYE’S BOX AND TONE

Fitness DVD

Nothing quite as therapeutic as a little punching and kicking, and David Haye is apparently rather good at both. We’ll hear what he has to say.

£5.99 – buy here.

BEACHBODY’S INSANITY

Fitness DVD

For those who know, Insanity is a little… eh… insane. It’s pretty hardcore, but the results are incredible. There’s 10 DVD’s in this set, so that should keep you busy for a little while.

£99 – buy here.

KETTLERCISE: JUST FOR WOMEN

Fitness DVD

We were introduced to the magic of kettlebells this year, and if there’s only one piece of equipment you want to invest in, a kettlebell should be it. This workout is based entirely around it and is great for toning.

£21.99 – buy here.

JANE FONDA: TRIM TONE AND FLEX

Fitness DVD

I MEAN, LOOK AT HER! SHE’S 76! WHAT OTHER PROOF DO YOU NEED?

£5.50 – buy here.

THE TRACY ANDERSON METHOD: TRIPLE WORKOUT EDITION

Fitness DVD

If it’s good enough for Gwyneth Paltrow and Madonna, then it’s good enough for us. Three DVD’s will put you on the right path to Gwynny’s bootie or Madonna’s biceps.

£16.50 – buy here.

RICHARD SIMMONS: PARTY OFF THE POUNDS

Fitness DVD

Cheesy Eighties’ music. Richard Simmons in slightly-too-short-shorts, terrible aerobic dance moves: invite your girlfriends over and bring it on!

£18.99 – buy here.

PUSSYCAT DOLLS 2: DANCER”S BODY WORKOUT

Fitness DVD

This workout fronted by PCD’s Robin Antin probably requires a trip to Ann Summers rather than a sportswear store… Leave the curtains open so the neighbours can enjoy it too.

£3.95 – buy here.

MIRANDA HART’S MARACATTACK

Perhaps the most surprising of celebrity DVD releases is Miranda Hart’s Maracattack. We’re not entire certain of the results, but with the rather odd mixture of workouts and comedy sketches, we’re sure your stomach muscles will get tones, even if it’s just from laughing.

£12.95 – buy here.

Fitness DVD

DIRTY DANCING WORKOUT

Fitness DVD

‘Cause I’ve had the time of my liiiiiiiiife, and I owe it all to youuuuuuuuuuuuuu

£5.57 – buy here.

I’m a 30 Day Shred girl too! One of the toughest workouts I’ve done…

I swear by Jillian’s 30 Day Shred- it helped me lose over 1 stone last year. I never made it to level 3 as level 2 was a bit tough on my knees, but I now do the level 1workout a couple of days a week just to keep the weight off. 20 minutes a session means it’s really easy to fit into your day.
