A couple of weeks ago, I was lucky enough to interview Khloe Kardashian during her promotional blitz stop in London for their Kardashian Kollection for Lipsy. Over the years, Khloe – just like her sisters – has received a lot of attention for her shape, both good and bad. In recent months, she’s been working out like crazy and after losing 30lb, she looks fitter and healthier than ever before. Even more, when Khloe gets papped leaving her gym, we feel nothing but envy over her seemingly effortless workout style. So, we had to ask: how does she make going to the gym look that cool?
Fashercise: We see you out and about photographed in your gym clothes quite a lot, looking absolutely stunning even after your workout, so I was wondering if you had any tips for us on how you style your gym clothes?
Khloe: Well, for the gym, I tend to wear all black, I feel like it’s easy and when you feel like you’re sweating and gross, you definitely feel the slimmest in all black. I see girls at the gym in white leggings and they look great, but I don’t have that confidence! I like to match and be in all black , but I like to accessorise with a neon shoe or something that makes me at least a little happy, but generally I tend to wear all black workout clothes
Fashercise: Do you wear make up at the gym, or do you prefer to go barefaced?
Khloe: At the gym, I never wear make-up! I see girls in full makeup and I’m like: I’m there to just sweat! I really just want to workout, although I have noticed it’s nicer if you’re a little bit put together, especially when you’re feeling sweaty and gross.
Fashercise: No girl really enjoys being in public looking sweaty after a work out, let alone being photographed and having those pictures appear online all around the world. It must be difficult for you?
Khloe: It is, it’s crazy! I bring a pair of sunglasses and always wear a big black hoodie just because I like the insulation and it makes me sweat more. I definitely don’t think I look cute leaving the gym! I wear this huge hoodie but it’s for workout purposes, not necessarily style purposes…
Fashercise: Do you feel pressure to be a certain size and how do you deal with that?
Khloe: My weight has always fluctuated and I recently lost a lot of weight but it took me a year to do that. I love to eat so I am sure that if I changed that and went on a diet I could have done it a lot quicker. It was more of a lifestyle choice so I decided to go to the gym four or five days a week so I could eat what I want. That was a lifestyle choice not because I felt pressure.
However, when I was bigger I got a lot of criticism and slack, which I thought was disgusting. Nobody should tell you what size you should or shouldn’t be. And if you love your body no matter what size it was then it’s your body.Even when Kim was pregnant I thought it was disgusting what people would say to her. She was pregnant, she was growing another life in her. And now she is looking amazing!
Fashercise: What is the best piece of advice that anyone has ever given you?
Khloe: I think for me it’s: ‘Don’t let anyone else influence what decision you make in life.’ Your life is your life and you write your own story so if you feel in your gut that whatever your doing is right then go for it. You create your own happiness.’
A girl who feels more comfortable in all black, doesn’t like to wear make up at the gym and prefers to work out than to diet? Now that’s a girl after our own heart!
