Welcome to Fashercise Meets… where we meet the girls behind the Instagram pictures you wish you had taken and the workouts you dream of doing. From athletes to bloggers, we’re chatting with some of the most gutsy, inspirational and stylishly fit ladies we could find – and who better to start with than the gorgeous and funny Anna; makeup maven and newly crowned fitness queen behind Vivianna Does Makeup!
Who are you?
I’m Anna, 25, currently living in London and the blogger/beauty mad gal behind Vivianna Does Makeup.
How did you get into blogging?
I was an extremely bored student who was majorly procrastinating from my revision. Having begged my parents to let me wear blue eyeshadow up to my eyebrows when I was six (they declined), when I stumbled across this blogging world, beauty seemed the logical topic to pour out onto a keyboard.
What inspires you?
Strong, ambitious women who work hard and do everything with a smile.
Do you have any advice for girls starting out in your field?
Write a blog that you would want to read or create videos you’d like to watch. Simple.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?
The one question that I never know how to answer! I hope to still be doing what I love and perhaps to have relocated somewhere a little closer to the sea.
What’s the one item every woman should have in her wardrobe?
A coat that makes you feel all kick-ass and Olivia Pope-y. Of course you want one that keeps you warm too, but one that gives a decent level of toasty-ness and looks chic is hard to come by, but once you find it – you’ll be sad when the weather gets too warm.
What are your fitness style tips?
Wear something that’s comfortable and practical, but also something that makes you feel good. Most of my workout wardrobe could double as an everyday wardrobe, yet it performs brilliantly whether I’m running or trying to master a Downward Dog.
What’s your fitness beauty routine like?
It’s pretty much non-existent. Given that I’m a heavy sweater during intense activity, I don’t wear makeup to workout and just head to the shower after. Showers are officially 102% sweeter than normal after heavy sweating. Trust.
What’s your favourite healthy snack?
Nut butter. All day, ‘erryday. Though I do love a bit of peanut butter spread over apple slices.
What do you indulge in on a cheat day?
There’s no such thing as a cheat day, as at least once a day an item slips through the cracks that I wouldn’t consider to be the most healthy option, but it’s all in moderation, right? I must admit that I can’t say no to a Rolo yogurt.
What’s your workout of choice?
At the moment it’s yoga. I love that I can do it easily in the comfort of my own home and therefore grunt and groan as much as I wish and I feel bizarrely relaxed afterwards. Plus, I’m slowly working on building up strength in my upper body, which given that I can’t even complete one push up is no mean feat.
Do you have any fitness goals you would love to achieve?
I just want to be able to touch my toes. Though I have a feeling it might be a few years till I’m there as I can only currently touch my knees. No further.
What do you do to relax?
I run a bath, then turn off all the lights, light up a few candles and crack out a magazine, book or something from Netflix on my laptop which I then precariously rest on my loo lid.
If there was a soundtrack to your life, what song would be playing right now?
Given that I written up this interview while sitting here in my PJs and with hair that I haven’t washed in an undisclosed amount of days it would be something nice and chill. Norah Jones’ ‘Don’t Know Why’ perhaps?
