Look, we to look and feel our best all year round, but let’s face it, summer time definitely adds a little pressure! Whether you’re getting ready for a sunny beach holiday – or in our case, a 30th birthday and a wedding! – we all have our own reasons to want to look our best. And yes, we want to rock that bikini and feel happy and confident about our bodies, but we’re also not willing to go on a crazy fad diet or spend all of our free time in the gym – we firmly believe that it’s all about finding a happy balance.
Luckily, we’re not alone. The girls at Get The Gloss (one of our favourite websites, fact!) feel exactly the same way, so they designed Project Bikini – a 12 week healthy eating and fitness guide designed just for girls like us. We went along to the launch last week, we sweat our way through some of the workouts and sipped on the delicious smoothies you’ll find in the guide and we officially give it the thumbs up. The 12 week program is realistic, which is the most important thing: no bland diet food, no crazy workouts, just a refreshing new way to look at food and exercise which you can fit into your life (rather than fit your life around it).
The recipes were designed by chef Nina Parker and nutritionist Zoe Stirling and are tasty and doable (no need for 50 ingredients per meal!). The workouts were designed by the amazing Joslyn Thompson-Rule, a Nike master trainer and Fashercise favourite. Joslyn’s workout plan is simple to follow, and designed to tone and make you stronger – all in just 30 mins a day. When you sign up to Project Bikini, you’ll get weekly emails with tips and motivation, as well as access to all of Get The Gloss’ wide range of health & fitness articles on the site. All of this costs just £14.95 – or as GTG puts it, less than a week of Pret coffees.
Fashercise is all about real girls living real lives, so we’re big fans of Project Bikini. With Alex exactly 12 weeks away from turning 30 and Cam’s wedding not long after, we’re officially accepting the challenge – and we hope you do too! You can follow Project Bikini here on Instagram, and you can share your progress and experiences with the hashtags #ProjectBikini and #HotHappyHealthy!
