Recipe: Energy Bank Avocado Smoothie

Recipe: Energy Bank Avocado Smoothie

Sharing is caring

From the workouts to the delicious recipes, we’ve been loving every single part of Project Bikini by Get The Gloss. At the launch a couple of weeks ago, we sampled the amazing “Energy Bank Smoothie” and we’ve become total addicts ever since. This green smoothie is the perfect way to kickstart the day: it’s filling, satisfying and most of all, tasty as hell, so we wanted to share it with you! The thought of drinking avocado may not have crossed your mind before, but it totally works. Blending avocado gives your smoothie a creamy, filling texture, and it works wonderful mixed with different ingredients.

The main plus of a smoothie over a juice is that it retains every single part of the ingredients, whilst with juicing you lose a big chunk of nutrients, including most of the fibers. So grab your Nutribullet or blender (we love our Breville Blend-Active personal blender, cheap and does the trick), stuff all your ingredients in there and just press go – no fussy prep, no mess!

This smoothie contains a bunch of ingredients, all carefully chosen to keep you going all day, with a maximum of flavour. Have it for breakfast or an afternoon pick me up.

Serves 1

1/3 banana
1/2 avocado
1 tsp chia seeds
1 heaped tbsp oats
2/3 glass coconut water
1/4 pear
small handful of spinach
1/2 tsp honey
1 tsp nut butter
1/2 tsp maca powder
1 ice cube

1// Put all the ingredients in the blender, and press go for about 20 seconds until all ingredients are blended.

Done. Easy.

It’s perfect for breakfast, but we recommend making a bit more and drinking some as your afternoon snack or whenever you’re having a bit of an energy slump!
